Some Pics From Queenstown (South Island, NZ)
Landing at Queenstown airport is a bit turbulent cos of all the mountains
Our little prop-plane (not shown) was jumping all over the shop - which was fun
Zoe resting on the trek up Ben Lomond (the snow capped one, ht 1763m)
The trip is supposed to take 6-8 hours and we did it in around five.
Ben Lomond is part of The Remarkables mountain range, visible here.
Dunno what sort of impression you'll get from this picture though
Me sneaking a quick look at The Remarkables - that hat is still fused to my head.
These are pretty serious mountains - if you had time you could easily
spend a few months here.
Saying that, you'd need to plan
food and water carefully as there's not that many shops around!
Finally at the summit, we get to see the full panorama
Me relieving myself on the way down, here we see a No.2 (only joking!)
Looking like something straight out of Lord of the Rings,
that's Ben Lomond - we zigg-zagged up the right ridge
That's all for now folks, more later...
